Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, tour around Santiago de Compostela’s monumental heritage, including a not-to-be-missed walk around about the Cathedral and the famous Plaza del Obradoiro, as well as the main monuments and squares. The site made up of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela and its four squares is one of the most interesting and richest in Europe. A whole world of historic and artistic content, spiritual meaning, and religious symbolism. The Cathedral is the heart and soul of the city. A baroque building with a Romanesque heart, whose crypt houses the remains of the Apostle James, its most renowned feature is the “Pórtico de la Gloria”, the best finished and most complex group of sculptures belonging to Romanesque art. After the walking tour they will visit three of the most emblematic tapas taverns and bars of the Old Town where they will try authentic Galician delicacies such as queso gallego (Galician cheese), Caldo Gallego (Galician broth), navajas (razor shell clams) or flan casero (homemade creme caramel). All accompanied by excellent local white and red wines. Along the way, their guide will explain the traditions behind Galician food and wine and advise on local specialties. Your local guide will also assist with language and translation, while providing interesting facts about Santiago´s history, culture and customs. Rest of the day at leisure to explore the city.

Around the Manor House, its ancient walls will welcome you in a pure baroque Compostelean style terrace… heraldic shields decorated with suns and moons will transmit the unique scent of a magical place Galician lunch in the beautiful rural restaurant located near the Pazo. Departing from the charming fishing village of Cambados, participants will enjoy a boat cruise by the calm waters of the Arousa estuary, a region deeply marked by fishing and shell- fish gathering. The waters of the Arousa estuary are extremely rich in shellfish, leading the world’s ranking in plankton abundance (body of microscopic animals and plants), that serve as food to delicious well-known seafood. During the ride, participants will discover the floating platforms for breeding mussels, oysters, and scallops, having a unique chance to learn the spectacular process involved in the cultivation of those molluscs. The vessels are all glass-bottomed, so there is also the opportunity to see the underwater life, the fish, and the corals. The trip includes an enormous dish of freshly steamed mussels cooked on the boat, served with a bottle of wine. After the boat trip you will visit the Heart of Albariño wine country, the valley of O Salnes, area with the longest established age-old wine traditions and home to the largest number of vineyards and wineries of the Rías Baixas Designation of Origin. Special gourmet lunch with Albariño wines in Cambados Old Quarter. Rest of the day at leisure.

In the morning we make our way to the ancient border village of Tui where you will visit its Fortified Cathedral and its old quarter After we make our way to the top of the Monte Santa Tecla Celtic Hillfort, an Iron Age settlement, one of the most important in Galicia. At the top, experience the beautiful and impressive views of the river Mino flowing into both Spain and Portugal. Lunch in a Rocamar restaurant at the port of the fishing village of Baiona. Rocamar is one of the best restaurants in this part of Galicia in which to enjoy the local shellfish and seafood specialties including lobster with rice, seafood platter, sea bass cooked in a cake of salt, sole, baby scallop pasty, seafood paella, monkfish and sole fish stew, plaice, baby lamb chops and homemade desserts. After lunch, a guided visit to Baiona, the place where the Caravel Pinta first arrived on her return after Columbus’ first trip on his discovery of America. The center was declared a historically and artistically interesting area, with narrow streets and with all houses made of stone. You will see the cloistered Convent of the Dominicas, the Misericordia Chapel, and Casa Lorenzo Correa that serves as Baiona’s Town Hall and the Monterreal Fortress. This walled fortress was constructed in the 14th century and today it contains a luxury hotel that resembles a Galician manor house. Rest of the day at leisure.

Transfer to León for a complete guided tour to get to know León Cathedral and the historic city of León. Over the course of time, León became the capital of the kingdom in the Middle Ages, a historic enclave on the Pilgrim’s Road to Santiago de Compostela and a city perfectly suited to its inhabitants. You will contemplate the interior of the Cathedral and move on to another epoch knowing its history. You will also meet one of the most important stained glass sets in all of Europe. Lunch in a local restaurant located next door to León’s Cathedral. After the tour, transfer to San Sebastián.
