After breakfast departure from Oslo, driving via Hønefoss along the charming Halling Valley to the tourist resort town of Gol. Lunch in Gol. Cross the wild Hardanger Mountain Plateau to Fossli, stopping to view the thundering Vøringsfoss Waterfall with a vertical drop of 180 m. Descend the amazing Måbødal Canyon to the idyllic Hardanger Fjord. Cross the Hardanger Bridge, followed by drive along the Ulvik Fjord, a branch of the Hardanger Fjord, to the picturesque village of Ulvik.
Dinner and accommodation in rooms with fjord view at Brakanes Hotel, ideally located on the banks of the fjord.
After breakfast, start of scenic tour along the beautiful Hardanger Fjord, famous for its many fruit orchards, via the towns of Øystese and Norheimsund, arriving in Bergen around midday. Afternoon 2 hours city sightseeing in Bergen with a local guide, including a visit to the popular Fish and Flower Market, the famous Bryggen Harbour with its gabled packhouses, and the old Hanseatic Quarter.
Dinner and accommodation at Clarion Hotel Admiral, right in the heart of Bergen near the harbour.
After breakfast, drive via Voss to Flåm and board the train for an excursion on the spectacular Flåm Railway, one of the most beautiful and steepest standard-gauge railway lines in the world. Departure on board an eco-friendly ship for a fjord cruise on the narrow and spectacular Nærøyfjord from Flåm to Gudvangen. This area has been judged one of the most beautiful fjord landscapes in the world and is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Continue by coach through the amazing Stalheim Canyon and Nærøy Valley, across the Vika Mountains to Vangsnes, for the short ferry crossing to the beautiful resort of Balestrand.
Dinner and accommodation at Kvikne’s Hotel, superbly located on the banks of the fjord and surrounded by mountains.
After breakfast departure from your hotel by ferry from Dragsvik to Hella, followed by a scenic tour along the northern side of the Sogn Fjord and further north to Fjærland, passing under the Jostedal Glacier, the largest in Europe. Descend to the beautiful Nord Fjord, making a detour at Olden to visit the world-famous Briksdal Glacier. After lunch at a local restaurant, the journey up to the glacier will be made in open cars – “Troll cars” – and takes you to the stand about 700 m away from the glacier. You will have a nice walk to the glacier, before returning by Troll cars. Continue by coach to Hellesylt, for a cruise to Geiranger. The Geirangerfjord is one of the most famous fjords in the world and has been a part of the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2005. Surrounded by deep blue water and green valleys, you will also experience magnificent waterfalls such as the “Seven Sisters” and the “Bridal Veil”.
Dinner and accommodation at the excellent Union Hotel Geiranger, overlooking the Geirangerfjord.
Buffet breakfast at your hotel. Depending on your own schedule, if you have time free in the morning, we recommend a stroll through the new central city district Bjørvika and walk between Oslo’s latest architectural additions; the Deichman Library and Munch Museum. Transfer on your own to Oslo Gardermoen Airport in connection with your flight home.
