The Aysen Region: Hot Springs, Fjords And Forests

Begin your tour through the Aysén region, crossing 45 minutes of Patagonian pampa from the Balmaceda airport to reach the city of Coyhaique.

After lunch, we continue along the scenic Austral Road to Puyuhuapi Lodge & Spa (3.15 hrs). Much of the trip is through extraordinary landscapes of dense forests between mountains and cliffs. In the afternoon we arrive at the lodge’s pier and then cross Puyuhuapi Channel by motorboat in just 10 minutes. Time stops in Patagonia, and you are invited to the spa for the first activity.

At 8.30pm dinner will be served in the hotel restaurant.

The setting offered by the fjords and Queulat National Park are sublime, while the extraordinary botanical variation, the summits and snowdrifts are terrific. During these days you will be able to navigate the quiet waters using sea kayaks, through channels and between islands, looking out for bird colonies and marine mammals like sea lions and bottlenose dolphins, or walk through semi-magical, fairy-tale like forests with lichens, fungi, mosses, ferns and flowers, before taking in spectacular views of the area, where the glaciers and lakes are the protagonists.

Back at the lodge, you can enjoy the thermal waters and complete spa offering of relaxing massages and thalassotherapy sessions to unwind after a day full of excursions and impressions. Refined gastronomy with regional, fresh seafood and vegetables from our own greenhouse, along with a selection of fine Chilean wines, round off the day’s experience.

At night, do not miss the outside hot-spring pools under Patagonian skies.

After breakfast we board the motorboat and cross Puyuhuapi Channel to return along the Austral Road to Balmaceda airport.
